My birthplace was Vineland, NJ where I graduated Vineland High School and went on to Wheaton College and finished a music degree (57) in piano and organ. I finished a Masters degree in piano (59) at the American Conservatory in Chicago,Il. Following that I took further study to complete my DMA at the University of Iowa in Iowa City,Ia.
Evangelistic and Church music has been part of my life since age twelve. My church affiliations as pianist, organist and choir director included First Baptist, Park Avenue Methodist, Aldrich Ave. Presbyterian, Mt Olivet Lutheran, North Heights Lutheran, Crystal Free Church in Minnesota and Calvary Temple in Winnipeg, MB Canada.
In 1960 I moved to Minnesota where I taught at Northwestern College, Bethel University and at the University of Minnesota. There were many opportunities for concert tours in the US, throughout Europe, Russia, Japan, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, and England. I loved the opportunities to perform with major orchestras including the Minnesota Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, the Rochester Symphony and several others.
In 1963 I began a 35 year stint with the BGEA as pianist and organist. I worked with Billy Graham, Cliff Barrows and Bev Shea as well as all nine Associate Evangelists over those years. It was an experience I will never forget. I was able to perform with Ethel Waters for 15 years around the world and for concerts with Jerome Hines from the Metropolitan Opera and Norma Zimmer with the Lawrence Welk Show.
